why do humans live? been trying to find an answer for 2 years now. still haven't found it.

i have tried to come up with an analogy for why we do what we do.

we are all going to die after 100 years of our existence. first, our bodies and souls, and later, the people we lived with.

⁠we will all be dead within 100 years. our existence does not matter relative to the time the earth's been around.

so, i figured, we might as well spend the few years we have on this planet, to explore what we are and what we can do.

our brains are wired to think. thoughts, emotions, feelings, these things are inexplicable, but they exist. we cannot quantify them, cannot describe them, but we feel them. they hurt your heart and your brain but you don't understand them.

so, we are going to think about something. we need work to keep us occupied. if we're going to do that anyway, we might as well try and be useful to the world. it gives a sense of purpose and passion.

to find purpose and passion in what you're doing, you need to find work at the intersection of things you're good at, you enjoy doing and that matters to the world.
